Exposure to Measles Case at Chuy's Restaurant

Exposure to Measles Case at Chuy's Restaurant

Tuesday, April 9, 2019

As of Monday, April 22, 2019, individuals who ate at Chuy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant in College Station, TX on March 29th are no longer at risk of developing measles. The 21 day incubation period for exposure to measles has passed with no confirmed cases of measles in Brazos County.

In light of recent events, it is important to keep yourself and your family safe by maintaining current vaccinations. Due to some false, but popular, beliefs that vaccines may cause harm, some people are afraid to get properly covered. This may lead to more illness for those that do not get vaccinated, as well as people in the community due to decreasing herd immunity. There is no evidence that vaccines lead to autism, and there is no dangerous mercury in the vaccines. Please see the CDC website for more information: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/concerns/index.html. Again, do yourself and your family the favor of staying safe from dangerous, but preventable, diseases through vaccination.
