MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Environmental Health Services Division is to provide the citizens of Brazos County with a healthy living environment. We are to accomplish this mission by assuring that our actions and efforts are for the greater good of public health. The end result should be a safe and healthy population. We accomplish our mission through the continual monitoring of food service establishments, on-site sewage facilities, and general sanitation issues.

$225.00 - Flat Fee Need to apply annually (by Dec. 31) at the Health Department for renewal of health permit. Apply when transferring ownership as well. Inspected a minimum of 2 times per year - approximately once every six months, and on complaints
Temporary Food Service/Special Events
Application for temporary permit (pdf)
$55.00 per vendor Applications must be completed and processed by the Health Department at least 72 hours prior to commencement of the event. Inspected the day of the event
Foodhandler Class

Onsite class - $20.00
Online - $25.00

Must apply before 2:00 P.M., on the day before class meeting date. Offered 5 times a month. One class per month offered in Spanish. Foodhandler card is good for 4 years.
Foster Home Inspections NO FEES Inspection set up by Foster Home agency Inspected within 3 days of request
Child Care Facility

Installer must submit plans of construction to be reviewed by a specialist. OSSF construction

Real Estate inspections - within 5 days

Environmental Complaints NO FEES Patron must call the Health Department with complaint and/or come in and fill out complaint form. Foodborne illness - within 24 hours

OSSF complaint - within 72 hours (weather permitting)

Other complaints - within 72 hours
