Community Health Nurses and Health Educators provide a variety of clinical, health counseling, and group education services, focusing on treating and preventing disease and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Community Health Clinics
Adult Health Clinic
Hypertension and diabetes screening, with appropriate referrals for positive screens or individual problems.
Community Health Clinic
Coordination with the Family Practice Residency Program of the Brazos Valley to provide non-complex, non-emergency medical services for adults, and also to provide non-emergency pediatric care, including well child care and sick care.
Immunization Clinic
Routine immunizations and tuberculosis skin testing for infants, children and adults.
Excluded: hepatitis B for anyone over 18 years of age & immunizations specifically required for foreign travel.
Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic
Testing, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted diseases.
HIV counseling and testing.
Tuberculosis Elimination Clinic
Testing, treatment, and case management of tuberculosis disease.
Preventive treatment of tuberculosis infection.
Recommendations on regulations and/or control measures.
Collection of tuberculosis disease and infection statistics (reporting required by law).
Communicable Disease Clinic
Case investigation of communicable diseases.
Tracking of contacts; facilitation of preventive treatment, when appropriate.
Recommendations on regulations and/or control measures.
Collection of disease and infection statistics (reporting required by law).
